Impressions of Western China

An exotic Chinese ethnic cultural operatic production, entitled “Impressions of Western China,” expressed through songs and dances will be hosted by the highly-acclaimed Seattle-based Chinese performing arts group: Seattle Ensemble of Songs and Dances. This group has been established for five years and has offered an amazing annual performance every single year since its inception. Each performance has been blessed with a unique central theme to deliver the most powerful, heartfelt moments to its audience.

The western part of China is often referred to as “exotic,” consisting of many ethnic minority groups, including, but not limited to: Tibetans, Mongolians, folks from XingJiang, and native people from western high plateau and Silk Road regions. These are the people who have the most colorful and unique traditions in their cultures.

The story of “Impressions of Western China” is about an American professor and his Chinese student visiting and traveling through this legendary land in China. The concert showcases many rich traditions in this exotic land from his perspective.

The production team of Seattle Ensemble of Songs and Dances is under the guidance of many performing arts professionals from China. In this event, many professional and some of the best non-professional performers from Greater Seattle area, as well as other cities in the United States and Vancouver, BC, will be featured. Regardless of stage presentation or show customs, it will match the quality of its performers of the highest order.

This amazing and artistically-produced show will be offered on Saturday March 21, 2015, at 7:00pm and Sunday March 22, 2015, at 2:30pm, at the Northshore Performing Arts Center, 18125 92nd Ave NE, Bothell, WA 98011. Tickets are $25 each. Seating is limited, so please purchase your tickets early.
